On-site Visits

Appointments
Appointment times will be adhered to as closely as possible (within one hour wherever possible) and are dependent on completion of the previous job, as well as the prevailing traffic and weather conditions. Whenever posisble we will telephone you if it is likely to be beyond the one hour deadline. Most jobs can be completed between 1 - 2 hours on-site. Any longer than this and we will usually require removal of the laptop or PC to our workshop.

Right to Cancel
If you wish to cancel your appointment we require 24 hours notice. Any cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of £40.00.

No Callout Charge
• We charge £40.00 (no VAT) for the first our, this includes a visit to your premises, one hour labour, thereafter £20.00 per 1/2 hour.
• We do run many promotions and it is likely you will be charged less than this.

• Discounts may also be available for those on benefits - please ask at the time your appointment is confirmed.

Smoking
It is against the law to smoke in public buildings. We understand and agree it is your right whether you smoke in your own home or not. Please be advised that we reserve the right to leave the premises whilst you are smoking in order to protect our health. Work will resume when we are satisfied the environment is suitable to do so. You will be charged for the total amount of time spent on-site.

Methods of Payment
• Cash
• PayPal - use your PayPal account to settle your bill quickly and easily
• Debit or credit card - secure card payments handled by PayPal - no account required
• Payment is required at the end of each visit (unless otherwise agreed)

Parking
Please advise us of the parking situation near your home or office when you book your appointment. If we can’t park nearby legally, then we may not be able to fulfill your booking. If you live in a permit zone, a visitor’s pass will be required from you.

Your Data
We will do everything we can to save your data. However, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure important files are backed-up, including software and product keys. We can help with file back-ups prior to undertaking any further work, please advise us at the time of booking. Sometimes laptops and PCs are too "poorly" to save data - we will advise you of this when we visit and provide any possible solutions.

Guarantee
All new parts sold carry a 12 month parts, 6 months labour guarantee against manufacturer defects. The warranty does not cover water damage, electrical surges, storm damage or problems through neglect or misuse.

No Fix - No Fee
Guaranteeing against future software problems is not possible due to the fact that computers can change during automatic updates (e.g. Windows, security software, etc).

Provided we have been able to run all available possible diagnostics and repairs for a solution but still fail to solve the problem due to technical limitations, then no charges will be made. However the following exclusions apply:

• Problems that are beyond our control to fix (e.g. faulty hardware)
• If we are not permitted to exhaust all possible solutions to a problem
• Issues that cannot be resolved which are not due to any technical limitations on our part (e.g. faulty hardware)
• Virus-related problems where we are not permitted to do a full recovery or re-installation
• Diagnosing intermittent faults (these often take time as the system has to be used over a longer period of time and a thorough process of elimination applied)
• We no longer support Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000 or XP SP1 as these are no longer supported by Microsoft

Return Visits
If you have any software problems after our visit, please call for support. If you require a return visit please be aware that charges will apply for work unless in the unlikely event we were at fault or a hardware component supplied is covered under the guarantee.

General Terms and Conditions of Sale

Adept IT & Internet operates business in the form of Sole Trader.

Signature of the Order Confirmation or Estimate by or on behalf of the Client or the issuance of an Invoice, indicates acceptance by Adept IT & Internet of an official Order either written or verbal – however received. The Client is therefore bound by the Terms and Conditions of Sale herewith.

Signature of the Order Confirmation or Estimate by or on behalf of the Client indicates the Client’s agreement to fully indemnify Adept IT & Internet, Central Naming Authorities, sub-contractors and any other Third Parties against all claims, damages, penalties and expenses arising from:-

(where the Client is applying for registration of a domain name) any Third Party allegation that the name as registered infringes any rights owned by a Third Party, and (where the Client is using the email or website services) any allegation that any part of the content of the website or of an email message constitutes an actionable wrong under civil law or an offence under criminal law.

The Client acknowledges that Adept IT & Internet’s service consists of: Laptop/PC repair, upgrade and supply of new systems; Internet, wireless network  (WiFi), data and family security; website design, maintenance, Internet, IT and data security consultancy and systems; acting as a Third Party where other products and/or services are required. Accordingly, Adept IT & Internet will have no liability to us for any failure in any service except where the failure arises through Adept IT & Internet’s own negligence or deliberate fault. In any case Adept IT & Internet will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage the Client may suffer.

Pre-registration of any newly introduced domain name(s) does not guarantee that the client will be able to own and/or use that domain name when the new name(s) “go live” (i.e. can be used on the Internet). Nor does Adept IT & Internet offer any such guarantee.

Services that are no longer required need to be cancelled in writing; cancellation will take effect from the next renewal date.

Copyright of any and all design projects (websites, etc) remains with Adept IT & Internet at all times and no website (either complete or in part) may be used by the Client anywhere else without prior written consent from Adept IT & Internet. This does not include any graphics or images used that were supplied by the Client or obtained from other sources (e.g. public domain clipart, stock photograph libraries, etc).

Payment by the Client is due as follows: on-site work – on completion  no more than seven days from the date of Adept IT & Internet’s applicable invoice.

In the event of non-payment of any amount by the Client when due, or if the Client defaults on any other agreed payment terms, Adept IT & Internet will have the right to do all or any of the following: (a) cease providing any product or service to the Client upon giving to the Client not less than seven days written notice of withdrawal (notwithstanding any subsequent payment by the Client), (b) charge interest on any overdue sum from the date of the applicable invoice to the date of actual payment, (c) recover from the Client all Adept IT & Internet’s actual and reasonable costs of recovering amounts due.

Adept IT & Internet requires a notice period of one full calendar month by written instruction from the Client in order to terminate any services supplied or products ordered. Where payments are being made monthly, quarterly, etc (if agreed in writing), full payment will be due for such services or products up to the end of the quarter following that in which written instructions are received.

If any illegal material is found or suspected to be held on a Client’s Laptop, PC, External Hard Drive, Memory Stick or other device either known or unknown at this time, which we are contracted to work with, Adept IT & Internet reserves the right to report such material to the relevant authorities. If such material is subsequently found to have been stored on any device at the time of work undertaken by Adept IT & Internet, but was not discovered at that time, Adept IT & Internet cannot be held responsible for reporting this to the authorities.

If we feel any material discovered is not illegal but is deemed by us to be offensive or counter to our Mission Statement, we will not work with such material and, if necessary, any contract will be cancelled in writing giving not less than: 24 hours notice (off-site work) or immediately (on-site work). This may mean a contract being fulfilled but the material in question will not be subject to our back-up and recovery service.

Adept IT & Internet, its sub-contractors nor its Third Party suppliers cannot be held responsible for failure of any product or service supplied due to any or all of the following: acts of God, natural, man-made or cosmic disasters either known or unknown at this time.

Adept IT & Internet reserves the right to alter or amend these Terms And Conditions Sale without prior notice.
