4th June 2011
One the 4th June this year we held our very first Disability Activity Day (D.A.D) on Plymouth Hoe and were please to welcome David Proud from Eastenders who is Patron to Scoot-a-long.
The day was run with the help of the Roborough Rotary Club and we pooled resources to have a fun day on the Hoe.
We were very pleased with the attendance as this was the first time an event like this had been held here in Plymouth and all went well. A lot of hard work went into the preparations but we feel it was an event that hopefully we will run again next year.
We of course have to thank various people for their help, such as Pluss, GM Coach Works and Murry's of Plymouth. Also Knight Scientific for their help, the Beacon Down Wheelchair Dancers, The All Stars Theatre Group, the Wolseley Trust and all those who came up and hopefully enjoyed the day.
Thanks also to the vendors who came up and have showed an interest in doing the same next year. We would also like to thank the Roborough Rotary Club who believed in the event and worked alongside us and helped us put the whole show together and hopefully will be with us again next year when it will be better and bigger.
Thank you to all those advertisers and anyone we may have missed we all had a good day and hopefully all those who came up did as well.
John Seamons.
