Michael A Hardwick

Michael trained at Chelsea College of Art followed by further studies at The Royal College of Art.

After moving to Wales from Surrey he decided, after several years of teaching art, to concentrate full time on his painting.

Painting in both watercolours and oils he developed his oil painting initially to capture the feeling and mood of the local landscape and stormy skies seen over the coastline both near his home and during his frequent visits to Cornwall.

Michaels work in oils now encompasses portraiture, landscapes and still life but throughout this work light has been the primary catalyst on the subject he paints. He uses light, colour and brushstrokes as tools to affect solutions in achieving a dramatic style.

Paintings have been published in “The U.K. Master Painters Showcase” for the magazine “The International Artist”.

Work is held in many private collections and been exhibited in many U.K. galleries including The Albany Gallery, Cardiff, The Heiffer Gallery, London, The Navigator Gallery, St Just and Harbour Lights Gallery, St. Davids.
